My name is Dr. Jeremy Knott, and I am honored to serve as Principal of the Mississippi School for the Deaf.
I was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. I am the proud husband of Dominique Knott and the father of an energetic son, Jayce. With 9 years of experience in education—as a classroom teacher, coach, and school administrator—I’ve had the privilege of serving students in a variety of roles. I recently earned my Doctor of Education in Educational Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi, and my passion for education continues to grow stronger each year.
As principal, my goal is to support and foster an environment that is committed to providing a student-centered, high-quality education. I believe every student deserves access to engaging instruction, individualized support, and a nurturing atmosphere that empowers them to grow—academically, socially, and emotionally. At MSD, the goal is to prepare students not just for graduation, but for life beyond the classroom.
I also believe that true success is built on strong, trusting relationships between families, the school, and the broader community. When we work together, we create a powerful network of support that opens doors and unlocks the full potential of every child. At MSD, we welcome parents and guardians as essential partners in their child’s educational journey, and we’re committed to keeping communication open, consistent, and meaningful.
As we begin this exciting new chapter, our focus remains on building a positive school culture, celebrating student growth, and moving the needle forward every day. Together, we will write a story of excellence and one that reflects the unique strengths of our students and the incredible spirit of the MSD community.
I look forward to a year filled with Motivation, Support, and Development. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if I can be of any support to you or your family.
Educationally yours,
Dr. Jeremy Knott
